Mailboxes: The township does not regulate mailboxes, but residents should inquire with their Homeowner’s Association and/or the U.S. Post Office for their regulations.

Noise: The Summit County Council enacted a comprehensive noise ordinance to address the many complaints received by area police departments. This ordinance prohibits any loud unreasonable sounds that are a nuisance or menace to others in the community.  For further information, see Summit County Ordinance 509.08. Persons engaged in commercial enterprises, such as construction or remodeling, and/or private individuals working on their own homes, are not subject to the noise ordinance between the hours of 7:00 am and 9:00 pm.

Street Parking of Motor Vehicles: Many streets within Sagamore Hills Township are not currently restricted for motor vehicle parking. However, residents are cautioned to use common sense when parking on the street. Vehicles should not be parked in front of fire hydrants or in such a manner that would prevent other vehicles from passing through, particularly fire trucks and emergency medical vehicles. Consequently, you should not park a vehicle on the street directly across from another vehicle.

Transient Vendors: ALL solicitors must be registered with the Sagamore Hills Police Department. Solicitation hours are Monday thru Saturday 10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. There is a charge of $25.00 per business. There is no charge for non-profit organizations. There is a 24-hour waiting period from the time the permit is issued before solicitors are permitted to commence soliciting. A solicitor’s application must be filled out in full with the Sagamore Hills Police Department. This includes the names of all solicitors and vehicles in the area. All solicitors in Sagamore Hills Township are required to wear a photo ID badge with their name and address of the company they represent, which is not supplied by the Sagamore Hills Police Department.

Hunting: No person shall hunt, kill or attempt to kill any animal or foul by use of firearms, bow and arrow, air rifle, or any other means within 100 yards of an inhabited dwelling as per Summit County Ordinance 505.14. Whoever violates this section is guilty of a minor misdemeanor. ORC Section 3773.06 Prohibition against hunting or shooting game near a township park: No person shall hunt, shoot, or kill game (wild animals) within one-half mile of a township park. The board of township park commissioners may grant permission to kill game not desired within the limits prohibited by this section.
